Cash Donations & Purchases Breakdown | Union Island for Dominica.

Donations

Recently, Hurricane Maria, a Category 5 storm devastated the Island of Dominica. On Union Island, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Leader of the Energy Band, Godfred Ollivierre teamed up with Radio Grenadines, Union Island Easterval Committee and the Union Island Disaster Committee to form an organising committee to plan a benefit concert and donation drive dubbed “Union Island for Dominica”.

On Thursday 5th Oct 2017 the benefit concert and donation drive was held at the Hugh Mulzac Square with over 20 performances by persons on the Island. A designated area was set up to receive donations of food items and clothes, cash donations were also collected via a recycled water bottle.

Several cases of soft drinks were donated by generous shopkeepers on the Island, because of this, the total bar sales were added to the cash donations.
