The Youlou Art Foundation of St Vincent and The Hub Collective of Bequia have joined forces to organize the upcoming exhibit at the Youlou Art Centre titled “The Grenadines Show”.

The exhibit will open on Saturday, October 13, 2018 and will run through December 31, 2018. An opening reception is planned for Saturday, October 13 from 5 pm to 8 pm. The public is cordially invited.

“The Grenadines Show” attempts to connect the mainland to its sister Grenadines islands using the power of art as a unifier.

This exhibit has been organized with the purpose of creating partnerships with and opportunities for local Grenadine artists. The hope is to form strong and deep relationships with these artists while promoting and showcasing the diversity of talent that exists in the country.

Both Youlou Arts Foundation and The Hub Collective are keenly aware that remarkable outcomes can be achieved by working together, and are excited to be collaborating to present the show.

The two organizations recognize the logistical problems facing our multi-island state and are focused on ensuring the inclusion and representation of all local artists, irrespective of geographical location.

The ten featured artists from the Grenadines are:

UNION ISLAND

Chevaughn Gumbs: Paintings

Dannis Coy: Paintings

Felix Browne: Carvings

MAYREAU ISLAND

Anthony “Snakey” Thomas: Carvings
